ADVICE TO POLICYMAKERS
While states, preparation programs, and school districts must work towards creating and using TQ data systems, policymakers must play their role as well.
- Policymakers must understand that many entities at all levels of the education system simply do not have access to TQ data sets.
- Policymakers must understand that creating a high-quality TQ data system that can be used in conjunction with other data sets takes serious time, financial, and capacity-building investments.
- Finally, policymakers must ensure that state and federal governments provide the necessary resources to all parties so that high-quality TQ data systems become the norm rather than the exception.
