About Quality Teachers
Some may argue that quality teachers are hard to find. Still, the educational system needs motivated and talented teachers who want to maintain high and rigorous standards for their activities. The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards or NBPTS outlines that a competent teacher has to follow some basic guidelines in order to achieve maximum proficiency. For example, he has to strongly believe that all students can and want to learn. Also, watching students and learning how they develop and what motivates them is also an important practice. Many studies can argue that the number of students in a classroom should be reduced to just 10, or a maximum of 15, so that teachers can achieve a more personal and close relationship with every student.
Quality teachers need to develop a student’s respect for learning and for others. Also, the teacher is one of the most important persons in a child’s life. He is responsible with developing students’ self-esteem. The learning process is not a private activity. It should be based on experimentation, curiosity, imagination, inventively and experience. The more children engage with the world while they are learning, the better it will be for their future. A quality teacher knows this and tries to create a learning environment that is non-discriminatory and opinion free. The world needs more professors that know how to listen to their children and how to help them engage with each other and discuss.
Also, the relationship that teachers have with the children’s parents is also important. Teachers should keep parents informed about the classroom activity and also get to know more about their students by talking to their parents. Social dialogue and social interactions are very important elements for educators who want to do their profession with maximum efficiency. Quality teachers can change the world by helping students become better every day.
