Teacher Leadership
Leadership is a very common concept that has been in our direct and usual language for several years now. Not many that use it know the actual difference between management and leadership as this is the most important thing in the acknowledgement of this concept. The concept of managements mainly stands for the action of one or more people to conduct a larger group of people in order to do what they desire, to achieve the goals of the management strategy. A manager only has some administrative methods and skills that would train a group, train professionals and also has the possibility to guide them in achieving those goals. A leader is a totally different concept.
The concept of leaders and leadership express some skills, in many cases, natural skills such as charisma, intelligence or oratorical abilities. A leader will influence a group of people to fulfill the objectives and goals that have been asked. It is a very important thing not to mistake the two concepts. If you are a manager on a certain department, you will not be a leader as well. Leadership skills are, in most cases, natural and are taught or learned pretty hard but not impossible and with the right teacher leadership more people would have greater chances of becoming leaders instead of just simple managers.
A very important thing in our today schools is that children or teenagers must discover these qualities for their professional development and for further career opportunities. This is an aspect that a teacher leadership should master and also should help children to follow their natural leadership instincts and develop them in time. A teacher leadership should be the first guide for the professional development of every child or teenager and they should have the knowledge and expertise to recognize talents and to develop others.
